SDLC at Computer Glossary

What is it? SDLC (Synchronous Data Link Control) is a transmission protocol developed by IBM in the 1970s as a replacement for its binary synchronous (BSC) protocol. SDLC is equivalent to layer 2 of the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model of network communication.
